OUR STORY

The patriarch of The Peterson Company is Howard C. Peterson. In 1949, Howard rode a Harley-Davidson from his hometown of Janesville, Wisconsin, to attend the Indianapolis 500. He was 19 years old and had just $20 in his pocket. However, he liked Indy so much that he decided to stay and soon found a job laying blocks for houses. That set him on the path to becoming a general contractor and eventually a developer with great success.

Howard Peterson was a highly respected businessman, civic leader, and philanthropist who had a tremendous impact on Indianapolis. His passion, vision, character, and principles continue to guide The Peterson Company today

As the CEO, Tom has high-level responsibility for all aspects of the Accounting and Admin Department. Tom is a CPA with over 25 years of accounting experience. That experience includes five years in public accounting, a stint as a small business owner, 10+ years as a controller, and a senior-level executive.

He earned his B.S. degree in Accounting from Indiana University. 

Larry Siegler

Chief Operating Officer

Larry has been with the Peterson family of businesses for over 30 years. As COO, Larry is involved with all aspects of The Peterson Company, helping build a cutting-edge construction firm. He provides leadership over a team of construction professionals from a project’s inception to completion. Over his career, Larry has been involved with pre-development, design, financing, construction, incentives, leasing, contract review, and property management. 

Larry earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. 

Bret Stallcop

President of New Construction

As a Managing Member at The Peterson Company, Bret oversees the New Construction team, focusing on client relations, team building, expanding markets, and new opportunities. With years of experience in the commercial construction industry, Bret has overseen multiple significant projects throughout the country. 

Bret earned his B.S. in Construction Technology from Indiana State University.

Brett Dalton

President of Tenant Improvements

As a Managing Member at The Peterson Company, Brett oversees the Tenant Improvements team. He estimates and manages the completion of improvement projects. Brett takes a hands-on approach to every project, whether office tenant improvements, offices, restaurants, schools, or anything in between. 

David Charron

President of Property Services

As a Managing Member at The Peterson Company, Dave oversees the Property Services team, which is responsible for more than 200 buildings in Central Indiana, Ft Wayne, Columbus, Ohio, and Cincinnati, Ohio. His team deals with local, regional, and national property owners. Dave relies on his more than 25 years of facility maintenance experience to solve problems for tenants and owners.

Ken Cottle

Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, Ken has responsibility for all aspects of the Accounting department, including budgeting, financial analysis, compliance and monthly financial statements. He is a CPA and results-oriented Finance leader, with over 16 years of accounting experience – comprised of 3 years in public accounting, growing from Staff Accountant to CFO over 9 years at a healthcare IT consulting company and 4 years here at The Peterson Company.

He earned a B.S. degree in Accounting and Business Management at the University of Evansville.

John Cummins

Sr. VIce President - New Construction

As Sr. Vice President, John oversees all operations and staffing of the New Construction Division and focuses on client relationships and the growth and development of the division and team. With over ten years of experience in multiple industry sectors (healthcare, high-end retail, mission-critical, food-grade, and industrial), he is responsible for overall job progress, system/process integration, and projections on trends and supply chain issues.

He earned his B.S from Purdue University in Building Construction Management.

Manish Gandhi

Sr. VIce President

As Sr. Vice President, Manish is focused on client relations, business development, pre-construction services and expanding Peterson’s platform into new markets and industry segments. With over 30 years of experience in construction and development, Manish has worked in numerous cities on a variety of projects.

He earned his Construction Engineering degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan.

Matt Brauer

Sr. VIce President - Development and Operations

As VP of Development and Operations, Matt oversees all aspects of client project development, site planning, incentives, project sourcing, and transaction negotiation. He brings 8 years of experience in commercial/industrial development throughout the Midwest.

He earned his Bachelor of Science from Indiana University, a Master’s degree from Purdue University, and his MBA from the University of South Florida

Don Piggush

Chairman

As Chairman of The Peterson Company, Don applies his more than 30 years of financial management experience to moving the company forward by working closely with all of the growing operations of the company.

He is a certified public accountant with a B.S. in Accounting from Ball State University.
