Peterson served as general contractor on a 1,100,000 SF industrial facility in Ashland, Virginia, for Becknell Industrial, marking Peterson’s continued partnership with one of the most active industrial developers in the country.

Originally delivered as a speculative industrial facility, Peterson subsequently completed a full interior build-out for a confidential tenant, demonstrating the kind of developer and tenant confidence that comes from consistent project execution.

The facility features a 36-foot clear height, 120 dock doors, 566 parking spaces, and 375 trailer parking spaces, purpose-built to support large-format distribution and logistics operations on the East Coast. As the first building delivered within a 195-acre master-planned development, the project required significant infrastructure work beyond the building itself, including upgrades to VDOT roadways, drainage systems, fiber optics, natural gas delivery, and power grid infrastructure.

This project reflects Peterson’s capability to deliver large-scale, complex industrial facilities in new markets, managing both building construction and extensive site infrastructure simultaneously for an institutional developer, and following through to tenant build-out upon occupancy. At 1.1 million square feet with full site infrastructure responsibilities, Ashland Logistics Center stands as one of Peterson’s most complex and geographically expansive project deliveries to date.
